One Month After Being Known In That Island - Zeitgenössische Kunst aus der Karibik, mit diesem Thema hat die Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger|KBH.G kürzlich ihren Ausstellungs- und Kulturraum an der Spitalstrasse 18 in Basel eröffnet. Radio X begleitet diese Ausstellung live aus dem Kunstraum, von 17- 19 Uhr. von Danielle Bürgin

Radio X Event an der Spitalgasse 18

Die Eröffnungsausstellung mit dem Titel 'one month after being known in that island', unter der Leitung der ebenfalls in Basel ansässigen Caribbean Art Initiative (CAI), zeigt Arbeiten von Künstler*innen aus der gesamten Karibik sowie ihrer kulturellen Diaspora und deren individuellen Umgang mit dem kulturellen Erbe und der wechselhaften Geschichte der Region. Die Ausstellung läuft vom 27. August bis 15. November und wird durch ein umfassendes öffentliches Programm in Kooperation mit der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW Basel, der Universität Basel und Radio X begleitet. Eintritt und Katalog sind jeweils kostenlos.

Radio X - Sound Space (12.09./03.10/31.10.)

With the collaboration of Radio X, a selection of interviews, sound
interventions, acoustic performances, and DJ sets will be broadcast
throughout the exhibition’s duration. Dersu Figueira, music producer and member of the "Alma Negra" DJ-collective, will play a wide selection of carebbean sounds live from the exhibition space. The Radio X live broadcasting from the exhibition space will take place on September 12, October 3, and October 31. A special sound intervention by Joel Rodríguez in collaboration with Watabwi and El Hombrecito will be streamed on October 31.
