In knapp mehr als zwei Minuten streut sie Pop Referenzen und inszeniert sich als kommende Queen C. Der Song toppte bereits die Itunes All Genres Charts - damit ist sie die erste schwarze Frau, ohne Label, die dies vermochte.

Introvertiert und dennoch aufgeregt ist die neuste Single von Kate Stables aka This Is The Kit. Ihr Folkensemble (wo aktuell auch Rozi Plain dazugehört) inszeniert auf This Is What You Did sowas wie eine Panik Attacke, teilt Stables mit: "The negative voices of other people that are your own voice. Die Bristol Band Home Counties haben eben erst ihre Debütsingle veröffentlicht, nun soll die Debüt EP folgen. Darauf enthalten: der gesellschaftlich zynische Postpunk Singsong Dad Bod. Sie sagen dazu: “‘Dad Bod’ explores modern middle-class masculinity, with a particular focus upon the ‘progressive’ metropolitan man. The song initially takes a light-hearted standpoint listing the aesthetic traits and status symbols of modern men before moving on to address a darker side which is hidden behind the comfortability and respectfulness of a ‘Dad Bod’.” Die Redevelopment EP soll am 4. September (via Alcopop! Records) das Licht der Welt erblicken.

Immer näher rückt auch der Veröffentlichungstermin der irischen Punks Fontaines D.C. (31. Juli via Partisan Records). Die neuste Bescherung erreicht uns in der Form der Single Televised Mind. Einigen Fans vielleicht bereits als Liveversion bekannt, so sei der Song sowas wie ein sozio-Protest Song.  Sänger Grian Chatten: "This song is about the echo chamber, and how personality gets stripped away by surrounding approval. People’s opinions get reinforced by constant agreement, and we’re robbed of our ability to feel wrong. We’re never really given the education of our own fallibility. People feign these great beliefs in order to appear trendy, as opposed to independently arriving at their own thoughts." Der Song, tiefsinnig wie immer, kommt wieder etwas stürmischer daher, als die letzte Auskopplung (und Album Opener) I Don't Belong.
