Floating Points [aka Sam Shepherd] veröffentlicht am 13. September das neue Album Cascade. Entstanden sei dies in einem interessanten Raum zwischen mehreren Projekten:  "In late 2022, Shepherd found himself in the Californian desert working on something new. Mere Mortals, his first ballet score, created with the San Francisco Ballet [...] an upcoming anime score for Adult Swim [...] But as he wrote his ballet score by day, at night he found himself longing for the sweaty communion of a dance floor."

Wie viel von Dogrel (Debütalbum 2019) noch in Fontaines D.C steckt, ist schwer zu sagen. Musikalisch und visuell trennen sie sich jedenfalls aktiv von den Vorgängeralben ab, und entscheiden sich in ihrem neuen Album Romance für quietschbunte Farben und amplifizierte Popstimmungen. Einige stille Momente gibt es dennoch, wie bspw auf dem Track Horseness is the Whatness.

Das Reissue Label Light in the Attic arbeitete in den vergangenen Jahren an einer Doppel-LP Compilation, welche einen Querschnitt der ukrainischen DIY und Underground Szene zeigen soll: “This record is a labor of love and a long time coming,” says label owner Matt Sullivan. Over the course of the last five years, Sullivan, alongside producers David Mas ("DBGO”), Mark “Frosty” McNeill, and Ukrainian label Shukai Records worked tirelessly to compile a carefully curated, chronological playlist." Erscheinungsdatum ist der 18. Oktober, einen Vorgeschmack erhaltet ihr in der Single Bunny von Kobza, der mutmasslich ersten Band, welche eine LP releaste, welche in der Ukraine produziert war.

Anfang des Jahres stellten wir euch das Debütalbum der Hong Kong via Bristol Produzentin gyrofield vor. Nun veröffentlicht sie mit These Heavens eine EP via XL Recordings. "The EP is an exploration into the universe and the beauty of nature via a series of shapeshifting sonics that are just as well-suited for personal introspection as they are for sweaty underground dancefloors: "I see a lot of value in creating danceable music that also touches base on atmospheric and spaced-out sounds. I’m a big fan of a lot of Drum and Bass that has come out but the influences for this record stem just as much from electro and techno like I Hate Models, Djrum to synth ambient, post-rock, and experimental pop a la Bjork.”
